Like every industry, the publishing business has been affected by COVID-19. The publication date of The Upside to Everything, Even Cancer, the book I wrote to help women and men best manage their experience with the disease, is currently undetermined.
In the back of The Upside to Everything, Even Cancer is a comprehensive Resource Guide I refer you to throughout the book. I provide more than 150 national and international resources to educate you, support you, and help you understand and manage your diagnosis.
I have decided to make some of the resources from the book available now—here on this site—because cancer stops for no one, and support is vital when managing this disease.
I have categorized the resources for your convenience. I have reviewed each site for content and relevance. This level of research will allow you to devote more time to your health and waste less time on the internet trying to figure out where to go for help or information.
You can quickly determine by the descriptions which resources are right for you without spending time investigating each one.
I know how limited your time and patience can be.
The links and resources provided are for informational, educational and support purposes only and are not an endorsement. Material provided is not a substitute for medical or other professional services from a qualified health-care provider.
Much of your life will remain the same, but you will be a different person. And you will be surprised by when, where and how this change occurs.
You will also see that as formidable as cancer is, it has its limits. It does not have power over your belief in yourself, your resilience or your spirit. It cannot control how you feel, what you believe or how you behave. Those are the qualities that truly make or break us.
As a survivor, I know the challenge cancer brings, and I also know the power it can give you. The resources I provide are for you to be informed and feel supported through the experience.
